History: The exhibition was established in
Caledonia in 1886. Over 2000 people attended the inaugural event, with
over 200 teams of horses on the grounds. It was run by the North
Queens Agricultural Society. Previous to it's inception, one-day fairs
were held in nearby Kempt and Pleasant River. The Society is
registered as a non-profit body under the Societies Act with the Registry of
Joint Stocks.
